1. What ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets are and what it is used for ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets contributes to the maintenance of healthy skin,immune function and eyesight.
Zinc is an essential element of nutrition that assists in connective tissue formation, the maintenance of a healthy skin, together with immune function, it also assists the body to metabolise carbohydrates, fats and protein. Selenium is a necessary trace element that acts as an antioxidant assisting with the maintenance of good health. Vitamin A is an essential vitamin for the maintenance of eyesight, night vision, skin and membranes. It also contributes to the development and maintenance of bones and teeth.
2. What you need to know before you take ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets Do not take ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets · If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to zinc, selenium, vitamin A or any of the
other ingredients of ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions Zinc, selenium and vitamin A are considered safe if taken at the recommended dosage. Health supplements should not replace a balanced diet. Taking multiple supplements and multivitamins may cause a cumulative intake of certain vitamins, minerals and other substances. Do not exceed the indicated dose except on medical advice from a health care professional. Consult your health care professional before taking other medicines.
Other medicines and ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets Always tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicine. (This includes all complementary or traditional medicines.) · The absorption of zinc may be reduced by taking calcium, iron or magnesium
containing supplements, or phosphorus-containing preparations at the same time. · Zinc can reduce the absorption of copper when taken at the same time. If you are unsure whether you’re taking enough copper, please contact your health practitioner before use. · By taking zinc supplements with penicillamine or antibiotics such as tetracyclines or quinolones, the effectiveness of these medicines can be reduced. · Taking zinc with ritonavir or cephalexin might reduce serum levels preventing absorption. · Selenium may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines. · Retinoids, which are vitamin A derivatives, could have additive toxic effects when taken with vitamin A supplements. · Absorption of vitamin A from the gastrointestinal tract may be reduced by the presence of neomycin, colestyramine or liquid paraffin. · Taking vitamin A together with contraceptives can increase vitamin A levels.
ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets with food and drink Taking ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets with milk containing products might reduce the absorption of zinc.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other health care provider for advice before taking ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets. Zinc is distributed into breast milk and therefore supplied to breastfed infants.
Driving and using machines ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets will most likely not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Always take ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual dose is: Adults:Take 1 tablet daily with a meal
It is recommended to take ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets at the same time every day for best results. Take two hours before or after you take other medicines. Consult a relevant health care provider for use beyond 3 months.
If you take more ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets than you should In the event of overdosage, consult your doctor or pharmacist. If neither is available, contact the nearest hospital or poison centre.
If you forget to take ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses.
4. Possible side effects ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets can have side effects. Not all side effects reported for ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets are included in this leaflet. Should your general health worsen or if you experience any untoward effects while taking ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets, please consult your health care provider for advice.
If any of the following happens, stop taking ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets and contact your doctor immediately or go to the casualty department at your nearest hospital: · swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips and mouth or throat, which may
cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, · rash or itching, · fainting These are all very serious side effects. If you have them, you may have had a serious reaction to ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalisation.
Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following: · abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, metallic taste, nausea and vomiting; · gastric discomfort, headache and rash.

5. How to store ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets Store all medicines out of reach of children. · Store at or below 25 °C, in a cool dry place. · Store in the original container. · Keep the container tightly closed. · Protect from light and moisture. · Do not use after the expiry date stated on the container. · Return all unused medicine to your pharmacist. · Do not dispose of unused medicine in drains or sewerage systems
e.g. toilets).
6. Contents of the pack and other information What ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets contain · The active substances per tablet are:
Zinc picolinate 119,2 mg (providing 25 mg elemental Zinc) Vitamin A Acetate 2000 IU (providing 600 µg RAE) Selenium Amino Acid Chelate 2 % 3 mg (providing 60 µg elemental Selenium) · The other ingredients are: Dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate
What ZINPLEX® Forte Tablets look like and contents of the pack ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets are white with brown speckles, flat bevelled-edged tablets, scored on one side. The score line is only to facilitate breaking for ease of swallowing and not to divide into equal doses. ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablets are packed in a sealed white high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle with a yellow flip-top cap, containing a sponge and silica gel sachet. Pack size: 60 tablets

1. Wat is ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette en waarvoor word dit gebruik ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette dra by tot die handhawing van gesonde vel, immuunfunksie en sig.
Sink is ‘n noodsaaklike element van voeding wat help met vorming van bindweefsel, die instandhouding van `n gesonde vel tesame met immuunfunksie en goeie gesondheid. Selenium is `n noodsaaklike spoorelement wat optree as `n antioksidant wat help met instandhouding van goeie gesondheid. Vitamien A is ‘n noodsaaklike vitamien vir die instandhouding van sig,nagvisie, vel en membrane. Dit dra ook by tot die ontwikkeling en instandhouding van bene en tande.
2. Wat jy moet weet voordat jy ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette neem Moet nie ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette neem · Indien jy hipersensitief (allergies) vir sink, selenium, vitamien A of enige van die ander bestanddele van ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette is nie (gelys in deel 6).
Waarskuwings en voorsorgmaatreëls Sink, selenium en vitamien A word as veilig beskou as dit teen die aanbevole dosis geneem word. Gesondheidsaanvullings behoort nie ‘n gebalanseerde dieet te vervang nie. Ander medisyne en ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette Stel altyd jou mediese praktisyn in kennis indien jy enige ander medisyne gebruik. (Dit sluit komplementêre of tradisionele medisyne in.) · Die absorpsie van sink kan verminder word deur kalsium-, yster- of
magnesiumbevattende aanvullings, of fosforbevattende middels gelyktydig te neem. · Sink kan die absorpsie van koper verminder wanneer dit gelyktydig geneem word.As jy onseker is of jy genoeg koper inneem,kontak jou gesondheidpraktisyn voor gebruik. · Deur sinkaanvullings saam met penisillamien of antibiotika soos tetrasikliene of kinolone te neem, kan die doeltreffendheid van hierdie medisynes verminder word. · Die neem van sink saam met ritonavir of kefaleksien kan serumvlakke verlaag en sodoende absorpsie verhoed. · Selenium kan die risiko van bloeding verhoog indien dit saam met antikoagulante of antiplaatjie medisyne gebruik word. · Retinoïede, wat vitamien A derivate is, kan addisionele toksiese effekte hê wanneer dit saam met vitamien A-aanvullings geneem word. · Absorpsie van vitamien A uit die spysverteringskanaal kan verminder word deur die teenwoordigheid van neomisien, kolestiramien of vloeibare paraffien. · Die neem van vitamien A saam met voorbehoedmiddels kan vitamien Avlakke verhoog.
ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette saam met kos en drinkgoed Die neem van ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette met melkbevattende produkte kan die absorpsie van sink verminder.
Swangerskap, borsvoeding en vrugbaarheid As jy swanger is of borsvoed, vermoed dat jy dalk swanger is of swangerskap beplan, raadpleeg asseblief jou dokter, apteker of ander gesondheidsorgverskaffer vir advies voordat jy ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette neem. Neem altyd ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette presies soos beskryf in hierdie voubiljet of soos jou dokter of apteker vir jou aanbeveel het. Raadpleeg jou dokter of apteker as jy nie seker is nie.

Die normale dosis is: Volwassenes: Neem 1 tablet daagliks met `n maaltyd. Dit word aanbeveel om ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette elke dag op dieselfde tyd te neem vir die beste resultate. Neem twee ure voor of na die gebruik van ander medisyne. Raadpleeg jou gesondheidsorgverskaffer indien die produk vir langer as 3 maande gebruik gaan word. Indien jy meer ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette neem as wat jy moes In die geval van oordosering, raadpleeg jou dokter of apteker. Indien een nie beskikbaar is nie, kontak die naaste hospitaal of vergiftigings beheersentrum. Indien jy vergeet om `n dosis ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette te neem Moet nie `n dubbele dosis neem om op te maak vir `n vergete dosis nie.
4. Moontlike newe-effekte ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette kan newe-effekte hê. Nie alle newe-effekte wat vir ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette aangemeld is, is in hierdie voubiljet ingesluit nie. Indien jou algemene gesondheid verswak of as jy enige ongewenste effekte ervaar terwyl jy ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette neem, raadpleeg asseblief jou gesondheidsorgverskaffer vir advies. Indien enige van die volgende gebeur, hou op om ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette te neem en kontak jou dokter dadelik of gaan na die ongevalle-afdeling by jou naaste hospitaal: · swelling van die hande, voete, enkels, gesig, lippe en mond of keel, wat
probleme kan veroorsaak om te sluk of asem te haal, · uitslag of jeuk, · floutes Hierdie is alles baie ernstige newe-effekte. As jy dit het, het jy dalk ‘n ernstige reaksie op ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette gehad. Jy mag dalk dringende mediese aandag of hospitalisasie benodig.
Stel jou dokter in kennis as jy enige van die volgende opmerk: · abdominale krampe, diarree, metaalsmaak, naarheid en braking; · gastroïntestinale ongemak, hoofpyn en uitslag.
Indien jy enige newe-effekte opmerk wat nie in hierdie voubiljet genoem word nie, stel asseblief jou dokter of apteker in kennis.
Rapportering van newe-effekte Indien jy newe-effekte ervaar, gesels met jou dokter of apteker. Jy kan ook die newe effekte rapporteer aan die SAHPRA deur die Med Safety APP ( Medsafety X SAHPRA) en eReporting platform (who-umc.org) soos gevind op SAHPRA se webwerf. Deur newe-effekte te rapporteer kan jy help om meer inligting te verskaf oor die veiligheid van ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette.
5. Hoe om ZINPLEX® FORTE Tablette te stoor Stoor alle medisyne buite bereik van kinders. · Bewaar by of benede 25 °C, in `n koel droë plek. · Stoor in die oorspronklike verpakking. · Die houer moet dig toe wees. · Beskerm teen lig en vog. · Moet nie na die vervaldatum wat op die houer aangedui is gebruik nie. · Neem alle ongebruikte medisyne terug na jou apteker. · Moet nie ongebruikte medisyne in afvoerpype of rioolsisteme (bv. toilette)
