Improper maintenance or lack of care can lead to your system deteriorating earlier than expected and causing injury. Please follow these instructions to ensure that your product lasts for as long as possible.

• Retain this Manual.

• Replace any worn, deteriorated, defective or missing parts immediately and only through Growplay.
• Tighten all hardware, including elements that secure the system to the ground.
• Keep away objects that could damage textile components.
• Ensure that moving steel components remain well lubricated.
• Use only parts and accessories recommended by Growplay.

Òxid i corrosió

• Be aware of, and check, areas that are particularly prone to rusting:
  • Places where water is easily trapped.
  • Hollow sections of steel (which can appear in good condition on the outside, while hiding rust on theinside).
  • Sections where steel components join.
• Inspect the inside of all tubes every 6 months – as well as after rain – and remove any water from the inside surfaces.
• Use general-purpose grease on steel connection areas.
• Avoid cleaning steel components excessively; it may reduce the effectiveness of their protective coatings.

Textile deterioration

•  Remove textile parts and store them – in their original packaging – in a cool, dry and dark place when the system will be unused for over 1 month. Prolonged exposure to UV sunlight can shorten the lifespan of textile materials.

Weather care

Components are susceptible to deterioration from use and environmental conditions – such as sunlight, rain, salt and heat – to varying degrees. If your system will be unused for any extended period, disassemble it, return it to its original packaging and store it in a dry place.

• RAIN: Remove any fallen debris after rain and wipe off residual water with a dry cloth. Moisture left on the
• WIND: Disconnect any accessories and cover the frame with a storm cover.
• HEAT: Cover when not in use to minimise UV damage.

Usage and Behaviour

Improper use of, or behaviour on, your system can lead to serious injury. Please follow these usage and behaviour instructions to ensure safe play.

X3.1 Select Protective Surfacing

NOTE: An initial fill level of 12 inches will compress to about a 9-inch depth of surfacing over time. Thesurfacing will also compact, displace, and settle, and should be periodically refilled to maintain at least a 9-inch depth.

X3.1.2 Use a minimum of 6 inches of protective surfacing for play equipment less than 4 feet inheight.

If maintained properly, this should be adequate.
NOTE: Do not install home playground equipment over concrete, asphalt, or any other hard surface.A fall onto a hard surface can result in serious injury to the equipment user. Grass and dirt are notconsidered protective surfacing because wear and environmental factors can reduce their shockabsorbing effectiveness. Carpeting and thin mats are generally not adequate protective surfacing. Ground-level equipment such as a sandbox, activity wall, playhouse, or other equipment that has no elevated play surface does not need any protective surfacing.

X3.1.3 Use containment
Such as digging out around the perimeter and/or lining the perimeter with landscape edging. Don’t forget to account for water drainage.

• X3.1.3.1 Check and maintain the depth of the loose-fill surfacing material. To maintain the right amount of loose-fill materials, mark the correct level on play equipment support posts. That way, you can easily see when to replenish and/or redistribute the surfacing.

X3.1.4 Poured-In-Place Surfaces or Pre-Manufactured Rubber Tiles

You may be interested in using surfacing other than loose-fill materials like rubber tiles or poured-inplace surfaces.

• X3.1.4.1 Installations of these surfaces generally require a professional and are not “do-it-yourself” projects.

This height should be equal to or greater than the fall height – vertical distance between a designated play surface (elevated surface for standing, sitting, or climbing) and the protective surfacing below – of your play equipment.

X3.1.5 Placement

Proper placement and maintenance of protective surfacing are essential. Be sure to:

ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHILST EQUIPMENT IN USE

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury while using the system, enforce the following:

• Ensure that the system has been assembled by an adult, in accordance with the assembly instructions.
• Ensure that the system has been checked over before use, and that all attachments are secure.
• Do not use in strong wind conditions or wet weather and keep the system secure.
• Always ensure active and competent adult supervision while children are using the system.
• Wear comfortable clothing, which allows full and free movement, and closed-in footwear.
• Do not wear jewellery, drawstrings, cords, loops, buckles or anything that could entangle in components and become a strangulation hazard, a contact hazard or damage the system.

Empty pockets before use.

• Exercise caution at heights.
• Make sure that the areas around, underneath and above the system are clear.
• Demonstrate safe use for children before allowing them onto the system.

• Do not attach items that are not specifically designed for use with the system, such as – but not limited to – jump ropes, clothesline, pet leashes, cables and chains.
• Install the system on level ground and in a well- lit area, no less than 2 m (6 ft) from any structure or obstruction – such as a fence, garage, house, overhanging branches, laundry lines, or electrical wires.
• Ensure that your chosen surface allows the system to be firmly embedded with the included ground spikes or anchors.
• Only install the system on a surface with impact attenuating properties – such as grass, sand or soil. A fall onto a hard surface can result in serious injury or death to the equipment user.
• Check that you have all parts required for assembly.
• Lock nuts and bolts securely.
• Children must not use the equipment until properly installed.

Pre-assembly and installation tips
ASSEMBLY: TWO PERSONS REQUIRED

Before starting assembly, please carefully read the following information:

• Items required for assembly: Ladder, rubber mallet and spanner.
• Two people are required to assemble the frame.

STEP 1: POSITION CARGO NET ONTO LADDER AS SHOWN – NO LOOPS TO BOTTOM

Important

ONCE ALL BOLTS ARE TIGHTENED ON FRAME, MOVE INTO POSITION. INSTALL PEGS TO HOLD BASE PLATE IN PLACE ONE CORNER AT A TIME, LOOSEN AND LIFT FRAME TO ONE SIDE LEAVING BASE PLATE IN PLACE. SCREW GROUND ANCHOR AND WASHER THROUGH BASE PLATE UNTIL FIRMLY SEATED. LIFT FRAME BACK INTO BASE PLATE AND TIGHTEN. REPEAT ALL 4 CORNERS.

PAS FINAL:
START AT ONE CORNER OF THE FRAME AND DOUBLE CHECK ALL BOLTS ARE TIGHT. SMALL MOVEMENT IN FRAME IS NORMAL. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE ASSEMBLED YOUR GROWPLAY COMPACT MONKEY BARS!
