The MPI-530 / MPI-530-IT meter is a modern measuring device for check tests of protection against electric shock in AC mains systems. Use this manual to operate the meter safely, avoid measuring errors, and obtain accurate results.

Quick start (setup & basic use)
- Read the manual thoroughly before operation to avoid measuring errors and unsafe operation.
- Select the correct measurement function using the rotary switch.
- For correct operation, connect the leads to the appropriate measurement sockets before starting measurements.
- For PE (protective earth) connection checking: connect the meter according to the drawing, touch the contact electrode with a finger, and wait about 1 second. If voltage is detected on PE, stop and correct the installation.
- For menu/sound settings: press the MENU push-button, and use the , buttons to switch off sound signals assigned to push buttons (some warning sounds cannot be switched off).
Troubleshooting guidance
- BAT! symbol on display / insufficient power supply: Charge the accumulator or replace batteries. All measurements except voltage measurements for Z and RCD functions are blocked when BAT! is shown.
- PE! symbol with continuous beep during PE check: Stop measurements and correct the installation fault. The symbol indicates that phase voltage has been found on the PE lead. The trigger threshold is approximately 50 V.
- RISO insulation resistance measurement shows noise/current limit symbols: If the meter shows a noise/interference condition, the measurement may be affected by additional uncertainty. If the current limit tripped symbol is displayed, it indicates the result was obtained while a current limiting device was active.
- Fault loop impedance / limits assessment: If limits are set, the upper-right symbols indicate whether the result is correct (within limits), incorrect (outside limits), or cannot be assessed (e.g., measurement in progress or result not available).
- Resistance to earth measurement blocked due to terminal voltage: If the terminal voltage is higher than 24 V but lower than 50 V, measurement is blocked.
